About me

These 8 humans are my greatest joy and inspiration, and stand by me as I follow my love of photography. I could not do it without them.

A little about me – I started my business 16 years ago, but began taking pictures when I was in high school. Back then I learned a real love and appreciation for film as I took the time to roll, develop, and print my own images. Being a part of the process from start to finish was so satisfying. I got my first real camera for graduation and I dreamed of owning my own darkroom someday. Fast forward several years later and though I never got that dark room, thanks to digital photography, I still get to see the process through, start to finish. I find joy in the process that goes into every image. I love light and everything it represents! Light is what feeds my soul and drives my creativity. It can take my breath away and sometimes make me cry. Working with light provides me with creativity, challenges I enjoy facing, and excitement over the possibilities.

My passion is capturing the moments as we live them, essentially stopping time, and doing so in genuine, creative, and artistic ways. When I look back at them, I get emotional over the flood of memories that a single image can evoke. I can step back into the moment and feel everything I felt that day. I desire to bring this same feeling of joy, sunshine, and warmth to my clients. I enjoy being a home body in-between a good mix of traveling. When I do adventure out you will usually find me with my family. We love hitting the beach, any National Park, and hikes all around. When it comes to sports we are a softball, volleyball, cross country kind of family and I am forever and always my kids (and my husbands) number 1 fan! But no matter what we are doing, you will almost always find me with a camera in hand (we tend to refer to it as “my right arm”) chasing down my kids, documenting our lives and loving every minute of it.

“Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography.”
